Terms of Service
Effective September 23, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of ObligationOS, including its website, applications, document analysis, reminders, notifications, artificial-intelligence features, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account, purchasing a plan, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
1. What ObligationOS provides
ObligationOS is an administrative information and workflow tool designed to help users organize documents, identify potential obligations, track dates, receive reminders, and analyze workspace information. The Service may use automated systems and artificial intelligence to extract, classify, summarize, and generate information.
2. Not professional advice; verify important information
ObligationOS does not provide legal, financial, tax, accounting, insurance, medical, compliance, or other licensed professional advice. Outputs, extracted dates, reminders, summaries, risk indicators, and AI responses may be incomplete, delayed, or incorrect. You are responsible for reviewing source documents, confirming deadlines and obligations, obtaining professional advice when appropriate, and taking required action. Do not rely on the Service as the sole system for a critical deadline, payment, filing, renewal, notice, or other time-sensitive obligation.
3. Accounts and workspaces
You must provide accurate account information, protect your credentials, and promptly notify ObligationOS of suspected unauthorized access. Workspace owners and administrators control member access and permissions. Users are responsible for activity performed through their accounts and for ensuring they have authority to upload and process information placed in a workspace.
4. Your content
You retain your rights in documents, data, and other content you submit (“User Content”). You grant ObligationOS a limited, non-exclusive license to host, copy, transmit, process, analyze, display, and otherwise use User Content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, support, and improve the Service and provide requested functionality. You represent that you have the rights and permissions necessary to submit User Content and permit this processing.
5. AI and automated processing
Some features use third-party artificial-intelligence providers, including OpenAI. Relevant portions of User Content and workspace context may be transmitted to those providers to produce requested analysis. AI-generated material is probabilistic and may contain errors. Users must independently verify information before relying on it for consequential decisions.
6. Reminders, email and notifications
Reminder and notification features are provided as a convenience and are not guaranteed delivery systems. Delivery can be affected by user settings, incorrect contact information, email-provider filtering, outages, third-party services, network conditions, account status, and other factors. You remain responsible for independently tracking obligations and deadlines. You may disable optional reminder channels in settings where available.
7. Acceptable use
You may not use the Service to violate law; infringe rights; upload content you are not authorized to process; distribute malware; probe or disrupt the Service; bypass access, plan, or usage restrictions; scrape the Service at unreasonable scale; impersonate another person; or use the Service to facilitate fraud or abuse. We may restrict or suspend access reasonably necessary to protect users, the Service, third parties, or legal compliance.
8. Paid plans, trials, and billing
Paid features are billed at the price and interval presented at purchase. Taxes may apply. Unless otherwise stated at purchase, subscriptions continue until canceled. Cancellation stops future renewal but does not ordinarily create a refund for amounts already charged, except where required by law or expressly stated otherwise. Payment processing may be handled by third-party providers such as Stripe and is subject to their applicable terms.
9. Service changes and availability
We may maintain, modify, add, remove, or discontinue features as the Service evolves. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Where reasonably practicable, material changes affecting paid functionality will be communicated through the Service or account contact information.
10. Intellectual property
The Service, ObligationOS name and branding, software, interfaces, and non-user content are owned by ObligationOS or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Except for rights expressly granted by these Terms, no rights are transferred to you.
11. Disclaimers
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” OBLIGATIONOS DISCLAIMS IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT AI OUTPUTS, EXTRACTIONS, REMINDERS, DEADLINES, NOTIFICATIONS, OR OTHER RESULTS WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, TIMELY, OR ERROR-FREE. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OBLIGATIONOS AND ITS AFFILIATES, PERSONNEL, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID OBLIGATIONOS FOR THE SERVICE DURING THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM OR (B) US $100. These limitations do not apply where prohibited by law.
13. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, if you use the Service on behalf of a business or organization, that organization will defend and indemnify ObligationOS against third-party claims arising from its unlawful use of the Service, User Content it lacked authority to provide, or its material violation of these Terms. This section does not require indemnification for ObligationOS's own unlawful conduct where such indemnification is prohibited.
14. Disputes and governing law
Before filing a formal claim, you and ObligationOS agree to make a good-faith effort for at least 30 days to resolve the dispute informally after written notice describing the issue and requested resolution. Except where applicable consumer law requires otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes not resolved informally will be brought in courts of competent jurisdiction in Pennsylvania. Nothing here prevents either party from seeking appropriate relief for misuse of intellectual property, security threats, or unauthorized access, or from using a small-claims court when eligible.
15. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for material violations of these Terms, nonpayment, security risk, unlawful activity, or where continued operation is no longer reasonably possible. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute terms—will survive.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service or law changes. Material updates will be posted with a new effective date and, where appropriate, communicated through the Service. Continued use after an update becomes effective constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
